Hello!! I am Andra (Andi) Jones, and I am a 12 year veteran teacher of Haworth High School. I began teaching high school English in August of 1998 here at Haworth. Through the years I have taught English I, II, III, & IV, as well as AP English III & IV, Humanities, Creative Writing, Broadcasting, and ACE English Remediation. Currently I am the English III, AP English III, and English I teacher.
Not only do I love to be in the classroom teaching grammar, literature, and writing to my students, but I also love to spend time with them in extra-curricular activities where many of them shine the brightest. For the first time ever, I am a freshman sponsor, which means I will be helping with their junior high graduation activities. I also sponsor jh & hs student councils, Quiz Bowl, and FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes). We have begun a Key Club this year at HHS, which I am proudly advising, as well. It is very active, and I am so excited to be a part of it!!!
In my "spare" time I enjoy reading, watching movies and various television shows (my guilty pleasure), playing golf, and spending quality time with my family. My husband of almost 13 years, Chip Jones, and my daughter Abbie are the highlight of each of my days. We spend lots of time coloring, doing puzzles, and playing the Wii together, and Abbie regularly beats me at bowling. We attend church at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Idabel, where we are active members.
I am a 1993 graduate of Idabel High School and a 1997 graduate of East Central University at Ada, Oklahoma, where I majored in English Literature with a minor in education.
